Our Beliefs

Founded in 2023, First GMC Dallas is a friendly, multi-generational, Holy Spirit-inspired congregation. We have a place for you to belong, and a plan for you to grow in Jesus.

God

We believe in the Triune God: three persons in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each distinct, but inseparable, eternal in being and power.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” John 1:1-4

Jesus

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came to us in human form as God. He introduced the Kingdom of God on earth for us, lived a sinless life and died for our sins to restore humanity’s relationship with God. We believe He was physically resurrected on the third day and reconciled God and humanity. Jesus is now at the right hand of God the Father and He will return to bring redemption for all of creation.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, our advocate, comforter and counselor who comes from the Father and the Son, leading God’s people in His ways. The Spirit dwells in us forever, convicts us of our sin and he empowers the church to be the body of Christ in this world. We, the church, when led by the Spirit bear the fruit of the Spirit through the spiritual gifts provided to us.

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”  John 14:26

Salvation

We believe that our salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior, not by our good deeds or work. Christ freely sacrificed Himself on the cross for the sins of the world, and His sacrifice redeemed humanity from all sin.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God-breathed and as such, is timeless and inerrant and contains all things necessary for living in this world. The Scripture is revealed to us through the Holy Spirit as the true rule and guide for our faith and actions.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

The Church

We believe God calls His people to be together in worship, study, service and fellowship. We live in a broken world, experienced personally and collectively, and as we experience the saving grace of Jesus, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. This compels us to live differently, to look for where God is at work in and through us and to share His love together and beyond these walls.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42
